The mages and legends who define the Fairy Tail universe
1. Natsu Dragneel
Natsu Dragneel is the fiery heart of Fairy Tail and one of the most energetic and endearing protagonists in shonen. Raised by the fire dragon Igneel, who taught him Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, he literally devours flames to turn every enemy attack into extra fuel. Impulsive, combative, and completely unable to resist a challenge, Natsu hides behind his rough exterior an absolute loyalty to the members of his guild. His revelation as E.N.D., the most powerful demon from Zeref’s book, gives him a tragic dimension that greatly enriches his character in the final arcs. As a collector figure, his roaring flames and iconic white scarf make him the essential piece in any Fairy Tail collection.
2. Erza Scarlett
Erza Scarlett is the most fearsome mage in Fairy Tail and one of the strongest and most complex female characters in shonen. A master of Requip Armor Magic, she can instantly change armor and weapons in the middle of a fight, adapting to each opponent with terrifying precision. Strict, perfectionist, and gifted with a natural authority that impresses even her most powerful enemies, she hides beneath this steel armor a deep sensitivity and childhood wound from her years of slavery at the Tower of Heaven. Erza is the warrior who forged herself through pain so she would never again be a victim. As a collector figure, her interchangeable armor and steel gaze make her one of the most spectacular and varied pieces in the entire franchise.
3. Gray Fullbuster
Gray Fullbuster is Natsu’s rival and friend, and one of the most versatile and charismatic mages in Fairy Tail. A disciple of the legendary Ur, he masters Ice-Make Magic with creativity and precision, allowing him to sculpt weapons, shields, and traps in real time. His involuntary habit of stripping without realizing it is one of the most memorable recurring jokes in the series. But behind the humor hides a character marked by guilt and grief, carrying his master’s sacrifice as a debt he seeks to honor. His transformation into a Devil Slayer Magic user in the final arcs reveals unsuspected depths. As a figure, his ice creations and cool attitude make him a piece of unique elegance and character.
4. Lucy Heartfilia
Lucy Heartfilia is the main female protagonist of Fairy Tail and much more than the simple narrative gateway she may seem to be at first. Heiress to a great family of mages, she fled her home to join Fairy Tail and live out her passion for magic and writing. Her Celestial Spirit Magic, which allows her to summon powerful entities linked to constellations through gold and silver keys, gives her remarkable combat versatility. Her relationship with her spirits, based on mutual respect and sincere friendship rather than simple contractual domination, reveals everything she is. Lucy is the mage of bonds, the one who proves that the strength of relationships is worth all the raw power in the world. As a collector figure, her celestial keys and bright smile make her a warm and lively piece.
5. Mavis Vermillion
Mavis Vermillion is the legendary founder of the Fairy Tail guild and one of the most captivating and tragic characters in the series. The first Fairy Tail Master, she embodies the guild’s philosophy in its purest form: an unshakable belief in the power of friendship and in the value of every individual. Despite her childlike appearance, she possesses rare tactical intelligence and magical mastery. Her curse, linked to the same source as Zeref’s, condemned her to an existence suspended between life and death after she used forbidden magic out of love for her companions. As a collector figure, her ethereal silhouette and floating golden hair make her a piece of mystical beauty and absolutely unique melancholy in the Fairy Tail collection.
6. Zeref Dragneel
Zeref Dragneel is the main antagonist of Fairy Tail and one of the most deeply tragic characters in shonen. The most powerful dark mage in history, bearer of the Curse of Ankhseram, which kills everything he loves and makes him love everything he wants to see die, he has wandered for centuries in absolute solitude, sometimes seeking death and sometimes seeking a world remade from the beginning. The revelation of his bond with Natsu completely transforms the reader’s perception of the entire saga. Zeref is not a villain by nature: he is a being broken by a cruel destiny who eventually embraced destruction because he found nothing else. His impossible love for Mavis is the final touch to a character of rare emotional richness. As a figure, his aura of death and disillusioned gaze make him a piece of incomparable visual and narrative depth.
7. Laxus Dreyar
Laxus Dreyar, grandson of Fairy Tail’s third Master, Makarov, is the character with the most satisfying redemption in the entire series. Arrogant, solitary, and convinced that individual strength matters above all else, he begins as a particularly threatening internal antagonist before evolving into one of the guild’s most respectable pillars. His Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic, inherited through an artificial implantation, makes him one of Fairy Tail’s most devastating fighters. His sacrifice during the Edolas arc and his triumphant return mark the moment when he truly becomes a member of the family. As a collector figure, his golden lightning and imposing stature make him a piece of unforgettable visual power and charisma.
8. Gajeel Redfox
Gajeel Redfox is the Iron Dragon Slayer and one of the characters with the most gradual and convincing redemption arc in Fairy Tail. Introduced as a brutal antagonist serving Phantom Lord, he eventually joins Fairy Tail after realizing that his old loyalties were built on lies. His Iron Dragon Slayer Magic allows him to consume metal, transform his body into steel, and generate attacks of fearsome raw power. Gruff, not very demonstrative, and someone who shows affection only through action, he forms with Levy one of the most touching couples in the series. As a collector figure, his metal spikes and imposing gaze make him a piece of remarkable visual solidity.
9. Jellal Fernandes
Jellal Fernandes is the most ambiguous and tormented character in Fairy Tail, moving throughout the series between redemption and damnation. A former childhood friend of Erza at the Tower of Heaven, he was possessed and corrupted by an evil entity before returning to himself, carrying the weight of all the horrors committed in his name. His Heavenly Body Magic is one of the most powerful and visually splendid magics in the series. His relationship with Erza, based on guilt and love that circumstances seem to condemn, is one of the most moving and frustratingly unfinished narrative threads in the saga. As a figure, his facial tattoo and stellar magic aura make him a piece of dark and melancholic beauty.
10. Wendy Marvell
Wendy Marvell is the Sky Dragon Slayer and one of the most touching revelations in Fairy Tail. Small, shy, and naturally gentle in a way that contrasts with the brutality of most battles in the series, she specializes her magic in healing and support before developing increasingly powerful offensive abilities. Her evolution from an intimidated little healer into a determined fighter capable of standing up to far stronger opponents is one of the most inspiring development arcs in the series. Her relationship with her cat Carla is one of the sweetest and most sincere bonds in the entire franchise. As a collector figure, her wind wings and determined smile make her a bright piece filled with unique airy grace.
11. Mystogan
Mystogan is the most mysterious member of Fairy Tail, the one whose face was never revealed to his companions for years and whose presence creates an aura of absolute power and enigma. His true identity, Prince Jellal from the parallel dimension of Edolas, is one of the most elegant revelations in the series. A master of sleep spells and sophisticated staff magic, he always works in silence and solitude, carrying on his shoulders the weight of a kingdom that must be saved. Mystogan is the character who performs the most heroic acts without ever seeking recognition. As a collector figure, his mask and crossed staffs make him a piece of absolutely singular mystery and elegance.
12. Mirajane Strauss
Mirajane Strauss is the smiling barmaid of Fairy Tail who hides beneath her caring big-sister appearance one of the most terrifying mages in the guild. Her Satan Soul Take Over Magic, which allows her to absorb the powers of demons and transform into monstrous entities of devastating power, contrasts radically with her everyday personality of angelic gentleness. Her personal arc, tied to the grief of losing her younger sister and the guilt of abandoning her magic for years, is one of the most moving in the series. Mirajane is proof that the gentlest people can carry the darkest powers. As a collector figure, her demonic form or her everyday appearance offer two radically opposite pieces, both of them iconic.
13. Makarov Dreyar
Makarov Dreyar, third and eighth Master of the Fairy Tail guild, is the ultimate father figure of the series. Small in stature but colossal in power, able to become a giant thanks to his Titan Body Magic, he leads his turbulent guild with surface-level severity and absolute tenderness. His philosophy is simple and irrevocable: the members of Fairy Tail are his family, and he accepts each of them as they are, strengths and flaws included. His speeches on the meaning of a guild are among the most moving moments in the entire series. Makarov embodies the guide who gives space rather than rules. As a figure, his giant form or his benevolent old-man silhouette offer two pieces of equally memorable warmth and power.
14. Acnologia
Acnologia, the Dragon King, is the absolute threat of Fairy Tail, a force of cosmic destruction that hangs over the entire series like an unavoidable sentence. A former human who became a dragon after bathing in the blood of his own victims during dragon wars, he embodies pure hatred and absolute nihilism. His power surpasses that of every other living being in the series’ universe, and his ability to neutralize any form of magic makes him an opponent that nothing conventional can stop. The final confrontation between the Dragon Slayers and Acnologia is one of the most epic and cathartic climaxes in the entire saga. As a collector figure, his colossal dragon form is one of the most monumental and imposing pieces in the collection.
15. Happy
Happy is Natsu’s Exceed partner and one of the most beloved mascots in the entire Fairy Tail universe. This small blue winged cat, able to fly and carry his companions, is far more than a comic sidekick: he is the most constant and sincere emotional bond in the series. His loyalty to Natsu is absolute, and his tenderness toward Carla is one of the most delightfully awkward romances in anime. Happy brings the necessary lightness in the darkest moments while proving to have real courage when the situation demands it. He embodies the idea that the presence of a loyal friend can sometimes be worth more than all the magic in the world. As a collector figure, his little wings and cheeky smile make him the most endearing and essential piece in any true Fairy Tail collection.
