Despite his relentlessness, Antarès shows kindness towards his servants, firmly rejecting any cruel exploitation. Proud of his pure blood, he despises hybrid dragons, affirming the supremacy of pure bloodlines across the universe.
History and Context of Antarès
Once an ally of the other Monarchs during the cataclysmic war orchestrated by the Absolute Being, Antarès ordered Ashborn's assassination out of fear, triggering a major offensive that caused a partial defeat of his troops. After Ashborn’s disappearance, the Monarchs were forced into retreat while the Rulers gained power.
Centuries later, during the resurgence of battles, Antarès remained isolated, unable to find a human host powerful enough to fully harness his abilities, unlike his peers.
Final Battle Arc
After several Monarchs fell by Jinwoo’s blows, Antarès launched a fearsome invasion in Canada, causing millions of innocent deaths, yet failing to lure his opponent into direct combat. The decisive confrontation took place in Japan, where Antarès deployed both brute force and meticulous strategy but ultimately had to acknowledge Jinwoo’s tactical superiority.
The battle clearly tipped in Jinwoo’s favor, who exploited Antarès’ fury and arrogance to weaken him. Finally, the Rulers intervened to mortally pierce the Monarch, sealing his fate.
Epilogue
Saved by the power of the Reincarnation Cup, Antarès retained his memories intact. As the last surviving Monarch, he took part in the final duel against Jinwoo, where he was easily defeated, before sealing a pact to prepare Suho, Jinwoo’s son, to succeed him.
